Acupuncture needles

What is acupuncture?

Medical acupuncture originated as a traditional Chinese medicine technique. Thin, single-use acupuncture needles are inserted in various points throughout the body, following the meridians, or lines of energy, in the body. Most treatments involve 4-6 needles that are left in place for 15-20 minutes. This causes your body to release endorphins, which are natural pain-killing chemicals.

This approach to pain management is an alternative to medication treatments and is used in conjunction with traditional physiotherapy methods. This service is provided by one of our registered physiotherapists, Emily.
